Hi,
I have been hearing you can't drop structure into lakes in Illinois...But, I am not sure about Missouri?

Thanks

I don't think dropping structure into lakes would be worth the effort. Now, if you are meaning to say "cover" that is a totally different story. I believe you have to get a permit to do this (I think that is what Bruce Carp told me) but they obviously don't want you to create a navigation hazard. Don't laugh- there are a lot of idiots out there that wouldn't think twice about going overboard and clogging up a cove with trash and garbage and then calling it "crappie cover".
Twain,
whats the difference tween structure and cover.
Shoot i got cover sunk all over in many lakes.Never had no permit, guess i just never got cuaght.LOL :D

I Spoke With The Coe And Dept Of Cons. In Mo.
Nobody Seems To Care As Long As The Cover Is
Not A Water Hazard. Coe Has Juridiction Over The
Lakes As Far As What Goes In It If It Is One Of Their
Lakes. In Mo They Have Put Some Of My Pvc In One
Lake. Save The Hassle, Put It Out In Winter Or At Night.

Chef- those are my definitions of cover versus structure as well. That is why I said it wouldn't be worthwhile to throw enough stuff in a lake to form, for example, a point. It is a common mistake that I catch myself making as well.
i checked with ameren ue and had to get written permit from them, that was several years ago. I would check with owner operators of the lake before installing habitat! my two cents, most will okas long as the material is not bad for the water.

I Spoke With A Young Man From Ameron, Can't Recall His
Name But He Is In Charge Of The Shoreline And Habitat Placed
In The Lake. I Sent Him Some Samples And He Let The Doc Look
At Them Too, He Ok'd Any Of Our Products If They Were Tied
To A Dock. He Had Concerns About Them Placed In The Water
Not Tied To Something. I Explained Our Weight Placement And
How Our Attractors Don't Move But He Just Went With The
Ones Tied To A Dick. It Seemed Odd To Me Because I Know
And Have Spoke To Several Guys That Dump Brush And Pvc
In The Lake. And Dond't Tie Them To A Dick. They Probably
Dont Get Any Type Of Approval. That's What The Guy Said
