    Default Three Pound Crappie


    My friend and fellow crappie fishing guide, Carlos Duggan, brought in this 18-inch, 3-pound crappie on Lake Greeson today. It appears to be a hybrid with 8-dorsal spines, fuzzy blotches, somewhat of a vertical bar pattern and a black dot on the gill plate.


    I can tell you right where he got it - same place we caught a 2-5 a week or so ago.

    Our best today were a 2-pounder and a 1-15.


    The crappie are spawning on Lake Greeson and there are huge schools hanging around most of our condos. We're catching a few shallow but fishing 10 to 12-feet deep over cover that's in 18 to 24-feet of water just out from spawning areas has been most productive lately.

    darn nice fish for sure...i got some guys coming down to take a trip with you here soon and told them they better leave their gear at home and use yours before they havent seen fish that big before...
