If you can find the serial number call Evinrude and they should be able tell you it's year of manufacture. As for the prop, the factory prop should be a 13" pitch, not sure of the diameter, some of the older motors use a smaller one. Good luck!
I have a 25 hp evinrude. How do I find out what year model the motor is.I have got to a prop for it looks like this has been used in the river a lot. Also just for crappie fishing what kind of prop and pitch should I get? Thanks

Calling Evinrude is good advice. There are places on the web that give you the breakdown of a serial number...but the numbers have changed over the years, so you might be fooled (like I was) if you tried to use todays definition on an old number. A good mechanic told me the difference.
You can look it up here: http://www.marinshopen.se/
Its in Sweedish or Norwegian but its pretty easy to read.
