Corps opens three gates on the Rock

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has opened three spill gates at Table Rock Dam, according to the city of Branson, which said it was notified by the corps as part of routine procedure.
The corps has taken a turbine off line for maintenance, and in order to sustain the current release volume, the corps needed to open the spill gates, according to the release.
The gates were opened this morning one foot to allow 3,000 cubic feet of water per second to flow into Lake Taneycomo. The release said that with moderate rain predicted for the weekend, the corps wanted to maintain a constant water flow of about 15,000 cubic feet per second.
