    Default Tuckertown Fatties!

Managed to slip off to Tuckertown after work today hitting the water late at about 4:45 pm. Put in at Flat Creek ramp and headed downstream a short way before marking fish in 17 ft. of water hugging the bottom. I quickly loaded up some rods with plump minnows and it was on! My boat must have looked like a chinese fire drill with me grabbing rods and trying to maintain order as the crappies came on board. Within an hour, I had my 20 good crappies in the livewell and had to pitch back the rest.During the fun filled trip, 4 spunky stripers also wanted to gulp down my minnows too. My 12 foot crappie rods held up fine! 2 hours later all my minnows were gone as the sun went down. During the ride home I felt very lucky for such a great evening....until a big doe darted out and smashed into my truck. Dang! I'll never forget this evening of 50+ crappies, 4 stripers, and a whitetail!

Kind of a bitter/sweet day? Congrats on the T-town slabs. I have only fished there once but it was a great looking lake.

Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!

Hey Poppop, the stripers are ready for your bucktails. I caught 4 yesterday and 2 more today with crappie minnows. I was fishing deep in 17-25 ft on the edge of the main river channel downstream of bald mountain. Good luck!
