Can you remove the quick cast trigger from a spinning reel without it messing the flip bail up. I never use the triggers on mine and have one that gets in the way when I try to cast it hangs the line sometimes. Just wondering if I can take it off and everything else work fine.
MD I did not think of the balance but I see where that could be an issue. I wonder if I just took the one piece of the trigger off and not the whole thing, it comes in two pieces on this one and the trigger itself is one single piece attached to the main bail flip.
I don't know about taking it off. But I have one that don't lock when you pull it back sometimes. After hitting the one I was fishing with I chunked it and bought one without the trigger. I do have a couple of 2000 Shimano reels with the trigger that you catch the line with your finger they work very good. I have went to the under spin reels for my dock shooting they work great for this. You can drop the line to the correct length without much trouble. Good Fishing Cub48
these are great little reels other than that, I guess i will jsut suffer that part for the other qualities of the reel
A friend of mine completely removed his and it cranked just fine when I tried it. I think you will be Ok and happy with the result.
I took one off an abu garcia and haven't had any problem's.
I took them off of four reels that I have and it did not affect a thing....the reels still work great.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
