CANEPOLE!!! CALLING CANEPOLE!!! He should be right along to help you sir, please take a number and have a seat.
I have read articles talking about using a logging chain to slow your boat down. Can someone explain what they are talking about. How large is the links in chain, can you control speed with more chain or rope. I assume you would only use this in open water flats. thanks for any info on this subject.

I'm sure to get blasted from some, but I HATE people that drag chain.
Life has many choices, eternity has two...choose wisely.
Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
i don't think mr. will take the bait on this one...come on this is obviously a troller
I can't afford none of these new-fangled trolling motors (you know the ones - all you have to do is get the boat in the water and go to sleep, the tm does everything else - :D). I have an old MinnKota PD model trolling motor. I LOVE the infinite speed variation. I don't care whether the wind is whipping, or it is completely calm, the motor allows me to troll at whatever speed I desire.
I wouldn't go as far as hating , but I would personally not drag a chain, and risk ruining structure that someone else has worked hard to construct and sink... just my opinion.
i would goggle using chains to troll ,basically it is a length of chain tied to a rope you let out more or less rope to control speed .you can also use a 5 gallon bucket tied to a rope or you can buy for about 15.00 dollars a sock to slow you down.most people here hate the subject of pulling a chain because it can tear or there structure.it doesn't bother me i dont build structure i use side imaging and fish everybody Else's brush piles it is easier that way
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
Man, this should be a good read in a few more posts!!
I was going to ask the same question about dragging chain but heck I dont want to be hated. Really never considered the problem with tearing up structure.
