We keep a striper rod in the boat from Oct. to May at Buggs, while crappie fishin. It's not unusual to catch a dozen or two when they come up breakin close to one of our crappie spots. lotsa fun! Good report, REDBOAT! We've been chasin them ol blue cats for the last few wks. been havin some fun with cats up to 40lbs. seen a 48 last Sat. at the ICEBOWL contest.

Sounds like those cats saved the day. And I bet they put up a pretty good pull too. Congrats.

Here is a piucture of the two catfish.. They were caught using a Broken back Rapala type lure (gerneric one I found in a bargin bin somewhere) off of a planer board.. There were running about 18 feet deep.

This was over 30-40 feet of water and then temp was 39-40F

#2 on my trolling motor... (minkota 30lb thrust) --> I had one splitshot up a few feet from the lure... I say they were running about 18 feet becaue that would be the depth they seemed to hang up on bottom...
