SST; It's good to have you with us!! I think you'll find alot of useful info and probably make some good friendships too. Oh, the pic was a great way to come aboard!! Nice fish.
Hi all, new guy here I live a little north of orlando on a small lake. I usually try and get some nice specs once the weather cools a little. Have'nt had much luck this year yet but it is still early. Hope this site will help me improve a little.

Catch and Release: Catch the slabs and Release the little'uns
You made my list of best user names, dude. Plastic boats are great I got one so do others here. I haven't tried that technique where I been fishing lately but it might work there's a bunch there.
Welcome Blufloyd! You can read many of the past posts on locating fish that will help you. If you could describe the body of water you are fishing, that would help too. Any steep dropoffs? Any known humps or structure around the 18-25' depth? Things like this will help, and we can point you in the right direction. Also, read up on the structure forum, you can start making your own secret holes.

http://tinypic.com/htbcds.jpg The lake is about 14 acres and it pretty much tapers gradually to 18 ft. or so. There is one hole that was a dredge for fill. It drops pretty much straight down to 26 ft. or so, maybe 50 ft across. I went again this morn and nadda!!! The water temp did drop from 72 to 66 this last week. Anyone here close to orlando?
