That's a nice fish Jerry.!! I caught one a couple of days ago with the fillet stripe (I call it a guide for the fillet knife!! HEHEHE), but it wasn't near that big. Keep'em coming.
Folks have asked several times about the Arkansas Blacknose Crappie so I took some pictures of this 15.5-inch one this young man caught fishing with me today. It's the biggest Blacknose I've seen in a long time.
It was the same day last year this young man caught the biggest crappie on my boat for the year, which was this 17.5-inch/2-pound, 6-ounce Black.
This guy seems to have a knack for crappie fishing!

Jerry Blake, the blacknose do really well here in southern middle Tennessee. I have caught many between 10 and 16 and a half inches in the last year and 9 months that I've lived here. I usually catch more blacknose than anything when I fish Tims and Normandy, but not as many on Woods. I only had nine keepers this morning, the rain and wind was horrid, but they were all 12 and a half to 15 inches long. Seven of them were blacknose. I probably caught 20 or so dinks with about 15 of them being blacknose. I had never even heard of a blacknose crappie until I moved here, thought I'd caught a deformed crappie the first time lol.
