    Default Ice fishing 1-10-2010

Perryfisher and I met Keeferfish and Joedog at Watkins Mill state park today for a little ice fishing . The temps were -15 at 8:30 am , but the wind was calm to start out . It got a little windy later this morning . Keeferfish and Joedog caught a couple of bass and I lost one ,but the action was slow . We had fun anyway . It was nice to get out with some CDC members and do some fishing . Sure beats cabin fever ! Perryfisher had never been ice fishing , but enjoyed his first trip out on the frozen water . I was my first fishing trip on Mo. waters.
Here are a few pics. I took . Keeferfish got a picture of the fish with his cell phone.
Here is Joedog working his jig.

    Keeferfish drilling another hole .

Perryfisher enjoying his first ice fishing trip !

And me trying to make something happen , but enjoying the day .

There was plenty of safe ice out there today . Sure would have been nice to catch a few more fish , but I'll be back . That's a nice little lake .

Will do . I think you are about 15-20 miles from the lake.

Losts of fun just to get out with good people even if the fishin was slow. Not even one boat on the lake unless you count Joedog's sled and no white caps. I couldn't get Joedog to pull me in his sled, he had too much equipment in it. Also got to see a Bald eagle which was cool!!

I think TnRidge met a new fishing buddy. Poor guy had to walk clear across the lake to get some peace. I guess people pull up on your spot even when the water is frozen!

Tried trolling but could not get the jigs deep enough.

Sorry Joedog, not lookin good for the Packers. Still time so Go GB!

LOL , yeah we had a couple of guys pull up on us out there . We had to pull up and move to get a little more elbow room . I think they fished every dead hole we drilled ! :D
