Default How far into the season do you fish?

This poll is open to all. I couldn't change the thread title. Please post.

I was wondering how far into the season you all fish. If there are conditions you won't fish in, please post what those are.

This will be the first season I will try and fish through winter. I will stop when conditions gets too bad, ice and snow starts to stick.

I try to fish as long as I can find open water. The only condition that will stop me is wind, howling wind any time of the year.

I will fish as long as there is open water; not much into ice fishing.

I stay off the water if it is windy, safety and I just hate to fight it. But that depends on what lake I'm on too. Stockton and wind are a really bad mix. Table Rock gives the ability to find a cove out of the wind. Truman has places where wind is a bad thing also, and places that are sheltered.
And storms. I've been caught in some BAD thunderstorms with serious lightening night fishing.
Being an "equal opportunity" fisherman, I jig a spoon on Table Rock along bluffs for bass in the winter if it's not excessively cold and the ramps are open. Same at Stockton. And fish crappie too.
I'm here to learn Truman, where, what works & how, when. I do bass tournaments, don't crappie tournaments. I just like to catch & eat 'em.

The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

I work outside, so if I freeze or burn my butt up all day, it takes a little more convincing for me to get out in the extremes. If I'm not the one doing the convincing though I'm usually right there.

I would like to try ice fishing. Thought about going north and giving it a try. Just worried about the cold. I don't seem to handle it as well anymore. I don't feel comfortable with umteen layers on.

I won't fish in lightning, as far as cold, I can bundle up enough to with stand 20 deg. with no wind for a few hours.
I helped a friend get an Ice auger sharpened up and tried it out yesterday fishing off a dock, works good so we will be hitting the dock all winter and use a small stove burning coals to warm the hands.
The good and bad is, if they are there they are STACKED up, if not, then may be lucky to catch one in about an hour and pack it up and try the next day.

Maybe it wouldn't be bad if you had a close place to warm up. I wonder how those huts work to help keep you warm on the ice.

I bought this last year. It helps. I seen some guys put this heater in a Topsy's popcorn container to retain the heat.
