Default Watkins Mill Winter Fish ???

Anyone ever fished for crappie in the winter at Watkins Mill and if so any tips up there? I know there are brush piles and have some on my GPS but I have only bass fished it one time. Thanks

I haven't ever fished that lake, but camped up there a couple years ago. I hear there are some good crappie in that lake. If it were me and no ice, If you are on the bank I'd use a slip bobber so that you are just over the brush and move real slow. In a boat I'd start out jigging right over the brush.

If they are in there, you should be able to get them to bite.

Let us know how it goes.

Here are the locations of their brush piles: http://mdc4.mdc.mo.gov/Documents/17694.pdf

When we were at the Beer and Burger night, I asked MoFishMgr about the lake. He said there were some big fish there, but most are small. There is no size limits, but the state fish limit applies.
