This may be a stupid question but does anyone ever notice whether the crappie they catch have been caught before? I keep some and throw quite a few back and last weekend I caught a black that had been caught at least twice. Don't think I caught anymore that I could say had been caught. Just curious.

At Smithville in KC, you get that a lot under the bridges. Out in the trees, can't say I've noticed.

I caught one about a month ago that still had a jig in it's mouth. I guess he was "almost caught" tho.

lots of times, eaven caught one with a a tred plate home made jig in his mouth, pretty common.
