At what point do you say, “The fish aren’t biting today I’m going home?"
The other day I fished for 8 hours with 2 12inch crappie. It was a beautiful day so I didn’t care. But at what point should I call the ball game?

Its darn near impossible to thorw all your bag of tricks at them in one day, and certainly impossible to fish the entire lake. I have honestly never thought of this before. The inner clock tells me when its time. Then I usualy fish another hour after that!!
When the weather's too hot or too cold then the answer gets easy. When youre comfortable fishing and enjoying the day I look at it that finding the fish is half the fun so it's easy to spend the better part of the day fishing. If there's something else I want to get done that day my mind is already made up how long I'm gonna fish, whether theyre biting or not.:o
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Usually after that late late afternoon snack and the hunger pains are getting to me, then I still try but then finally head in.

Usually the only thing that tells me to quit is the weather or the sun setting. If it's a nice day, I'm in as long as I can see. Catching fish is just a bonus.

I have a sticker on my tackle box that says "Never Give Up". Ok I know, I got that from one of the bass pros. But anytime I feel like its time to give up, i look at that sticker and try something else. Even if I dont catch another fish, i will learn something. That very thing happen to us at the classic this year, i was ready to go home and looked at that sticker.

If I'm out there... I'm there for the day barring weather getting real nasty... run out off minnnows go to jigs/microspoons. If I'm out there and don't catch a thing it's still a good day in my book.

I usually have limited time to fish so I know when I need to be back. Otherwise, sunrise to sunset is how I like to roll :D
You actually go fishing to catch fish?
I say the point to quit is when it becomes a chore or a frustration. That is the time to quit. If the day is nice and the fish don't cooperate, then its just a beautiful day on the lake.
If the fish cooperate, then its a bonus and you have some good eating ahead of you. I usually try several things to catch em. Jigging in the weeds. Minnow under cork. Jig under cork. Minnow tipped jig. Straight jigging on brush piles, you name it. I quit when its time and not a moment before.
Quit complaining about the color, just pull up your skirt and fish! -- snagged
