    Default Mark Twain Washout

Well guys, Luke and I struggled at Mark Twain. Thursday night they got around 2.5 inches to the north. We left home at 4 and drove thru rain all the way to Hannibal. We were at the ramp at Stoutsville by 830. Scanned the north fork for brush but couldn't find groups of fish. Water was roaring and a little chocolatey. We struggled to keep 1/4 oz. jigs down, that is how fast the current was. In the afternoon we packed up and went to sandy, short fish there, didn't even mark any larger fish. Started the tourney at Indian, had one 9 incher. Sunday fished Lick creek south of bridge, great brush piles lots of cover, no fish. South fork was the spot for fish, and a few large ones came out. 1.2-1.4. Tough lake, I like fishing the creek channels but it was tough with the mud.

Better luck next time, sparky. Rising water and current can mess up a fishing trip.
