Quick, someone teach me how to fish so I can win this tournament!!!
I find the "quill" floats best if you are using smaller jigs. The lightest tap gets action.

Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
All you of guys who like the Thill floats, are we talking slip floats? I have bought tons of thill over the years and always end up with a groove in the top, making the floats worthless, usually happens in one trip. I can't find a great slip float, I have used the Thill pro series with the metal ring at the top, but those floats are very hard to get the right weight to set them up right. I go with the cheap Wal Mart 3 for a dollar floats. I have tried just about everything out there, and these hold up the best for me!
I agree with Locator79, I had the same issue. I stumbled on a good slip bobber two years ago. They are made from a guy in MI. He calls them ESB-everlasting slip bobber!
I use the two smallest he offers, in a florescent green. They are what he claims them to be. I don't know the fella, or his name, but there co. is HL-OUTDOORS.
I also use the cheap Walmart 3 for $1 ..........
