I use 10lb with 4 or 6lb on my double rig.
what lb. line do you use on spider rigs? I'm looking at an 8 or 10 lb for the main line but everything seems too stiff for the small reels I'm using. any suggestions at all would help. prefer Hi Vis of florescent.
Thanks

I use 10lb with 4 or 6lb on my double rig.
I only use 6#. For me that is a good all around line. It also depends on the brand of line concerning stiffness. I only use Berkley Trilene Sensation or XL Smooth Casting. Berkley also makes a transition brand which is gold in the sun light above water but below water it is clear. I have that on a couple reels and it is pretty good. A little pricey, but so is the Sensation. I would rather pay a little extra for a good line than just settle for something cheap that gives me trouble all the time, cutting into my fishing enjoyment.
Im use 6# Trilene line on my spider poles. I tried 8# and noticed they didnt stay as vertical as the 6# so I went 6 on all of 'em.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
I use 6 lb. Mr. Crappie High Vis Yellow.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Try 6lb high-vis gold Gamma copolymer. Tests out at 12lbs with 6lb diameter. It manages real well too.
Thanks for all the replies guess I'll go with the Hi Vis Mr Crappie or Vicious as I have that on hand. Tried some 10 lb P-Line CXX but it is so stiff that it's like trying to spool wire and likes to spring off the reel.
Thanks again

I guess I kinda go against the normal thought of line size for spider riggin...
I use 15lb Big Game in florescent green....for the main line and the leader....
Smaller line breaks too easily for me...even using Eagle Claw 214EL hooks...
Braid cuts me too easily when pulling on the line to get it unhung...
Fishing 10-12 poles by myself I don't have time to be retying anything.....I need that hook to straighten out when hung so I can bend it back, rebait, and get it back in the water...where the fish are...
