    Default Clearwater lake crappie-2009

Has anyone been crappie fishing at Clearwater lake recently or this year? Last year I went to clearwater lake and caught real nice 1lb and 2lb crappie along with 10-12" crappies left and right in a few spots. Everytime I have gone I have caught crappie yet everytime I look at the Missouri dept of conservation fishing report, it always says fishing is slow. Just curious if anyone has had good luck this year out there. I will be starting to go often now that temperatures are looking good.

I will repost on my next trip out there....

Clearwater doesn't have the crappie like it did in the '70's. I'll fish there about once or twice a year. Still catch several, but usually not much size. It sounds like you found a honey hole there. Those fish are way above the norm for Clearwater. Good job.

    Default Who I am

Hey guys, I started the clearwater thread. My name is Josh and im 27 and have been crappie fishing since I first laid hands on a fishing pole with my dad. My favorite places to fish are Clearwater lake because I have found a couply honey holes and Reelfoot lake in Tenn. with my buddy Rich. Ive got a boat and Ill go anywhere to crappie fish. I also have decent luck with the specs on George Winter Park but it has to be early before the big boats come out.

Ill be going to Clearwater lake this coming weekend or possibly the next so I will let you know how I do.
