Jig head size

For those of you that fish with jigs, what size jig head do you use when fishing standing timber? 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 ?

Do you change depending on the bite or the wind conditions?

I like to use a heavier jig when dipping timber. Usually use two 1/8 oz jigs about 8 inchs apart. 1/4 oz when using just one jig. Helps get it down and hold it there with current and wind. Some like to use smaller jigs to intice a bite on the drop. I have found that bite to be far and few between so just like to get the bait to where my Lowrance says they are. yea for fishing deeper usually 1/8 for shallow water casting 1/16

1/16th or 1/8th usually, 1/8th most often, went with 1/16th last monday, Bob put it on me with same color and line,,,,,,,his 1/8th got to them quicker, that and the front seat effect :D------ I shoulda not been so hard-headed and changed but NOoooooo that woulda been the smart thing to do.

1/4 or 3/8ths if its really windy. If it is dead calm I might drop to a smaller head but when is it calm in Kansas.

1/4 to 1/8 oz in Spring. 1/8 in Summer unless it's windy then I go with 1/4. 1/16 in the Fall. 1/32 in the Winter. All can change according to wind and depth. This is just a general rule for me.
