    Default Stockton 7/26

Caught lots of fish from Ruark to CC. Over 100 fish caught but couldn't get enough over 10 for a limit. Best color was red head with a salt and pepper bobby garland tipped with a nibble. Fished trees and brush piles catching fish on both in 10 to 25 foot of water. Best depth was 11 down in 19-20 foot of water. It is suprising how many smaller crappie are in Stockton right now in different year classes.

Nice report Bender, it seems like those 9-9 3/4" fish are everywhere on Stockton this year. Once you find a spot with some good fish they fill your limit out in no time. Problem is finding those good fish! Stockton should be really good in the next couple of years with all those shorts being caught everywhere.

I agree Stockton is going to be great the next couple of years, just wish I could find some bigger fish now. The bigger fish I did find were one here and there but only one per spot. I think I am going to try around old state park next time to see what I can find.

Most of the short crappie you are catching are probably from the big year class produced in 2007. Things look good for 2010 and 2011 with a good year class in 2008 as well.
