Default Smithville brush piles are hot!

Ran into Gary burton and Brent Frazee at the lake today doing an article, tough job huh? Anyway they were catching big crappie out of the brushpiles but the secret was to add a minnow to the jig. Gary hates using minnows, so if he was resorting to them you know they weren't biting without them. The fish were suspended at about 10 feet over the brushpiles.

    Jack,

stop by Burton's Bait in Smithville and Gary will mark up a map for you. Especially if you get your minnows there! Actually he'll mark one up for you anyway.

You can also download a map from our website that will get you in the general vicinity. Go to http://mdc4.mdc.mo.gov/Documents/17695.pdf Good luck!

I don't like using them either, but some days they are a necessary evil.

You gotta ask for em with a real low voice....they keep em under the counter.
Progressive Marine Insurance SUCKS!. If you hit a submerged object they will try to prove manufacturers defect....stay away from them.
