Default Bluegills on a floating fly.Pic.

Hey guys, I'm back from my trip in northern Idaho. Guess what there are private ponds with Bluegill, Pumpkinseeds, and Large mouth bass. My friend at his Lodge has a pond. He has lots of shinners, I mean lots. His pond is over run with them. He has Bullfrogs and had some large mouth bass the otter moved in and cleaned out his large mouth bass. So we went to a couple private ponds and caught Bluegill to restock his pond. We caught 36 Bluegill and I caught 22 myself on a floating spider and a couple large mouth bass. The owner of the pond said he never new bluegill could be caught with a fly. I have fly fished over 35yrs. catching Bluegills fly fishing. If you guys are using bait for Bluegill try a floating spider. I garantee you will catch fish.

Heres a few Bluegill that was stocked in friends pond.

Used to buy the cheapest Poppin bugs I could find. Lots of em wound up in the trees or whatever was around. Used to love the 3 lb lm surprises. Foam bugs came around as I was drifting away from it, but they worked well for me. Saw some in a Sportsmans Whse. last week that would have worked real good. Looked like a real bug.
