The calico bass fishing at Catalina Island has has just been off the hook this last week. There was also a chance at hooking a yellow or two, so I decided to hit the big pond once more before my trip up north.
The Gail Force from far away.
Hit up the bait barge for a nice mixture dines and anchovies.
Beat the Sportking out of the gate today.
Went around the west end and head towards the back of the island.
An angler with a nice calico.
My first calico of the day.
Hout with another nice fish.
Towards the end of the day the barracudas came out and play for a brief moment.
The only barracuda I caught today got me the JP. I kicked down, the crew deserved it for all their hard work today. All in all fishing was just decent. No yellows today, but they can't hide for long. According to 976-tuna fish count there were 33 anglers who caught 93 Calico Bass, 10 Barracuda, 18 Sheephead, 36 Whitefish, 22 Rockfish, 4 Bonito, 6 Sculpin, and 88 Perch. Thanks for reading and goodluck on your next fishing adventure, Pokerface.
That looks like a fun outing... Congrats on the catch!
