Default Making good use of forty five minutes

I dropped my wife off for PT and it took me less than ten minutes to reach the docks and boat ramp at a local water reservoir.
I had my tackle ready to fish and jumped out once I reached the parking lot.
I had tied on a super lightweight .25g jighead and mini trout magnet. After my first small gill , I switched to a .5g jighead because of the wind blowing my casts all over the place and I was having trouble feeling the light jig . Wind was 8-16 mph according to my phone . Seemed worse.
I had set a timer on my phone for 45 minutes.
When my timer went off , I’d caught ten small gills and a good UL bass .
Combo was a 5’ Daiwa Trout X XUL rod paired with a Daiwa Fuego 1000 LT and Daiwa J-braid X8 .
Beats sitting in the car for an hour listening to music .

There were two guys bass fishing off the docks and one walked by and asked if I’d caught any as I hooked my second gill . He said they’d been fishing for over an hour and hadn’t caught anything.
He asked to see what I was using and I showed him my micro jig .
A few minutes later I hooked the bass and the bass fisherman walked by again and stopped to watch me play and land the fish .
I could hear him tell his buddy , you should see what he just caught that bass on . A lure the size of the tip of my finger . LOL ! I love it !

Oh yeah big fish eat tiny baits all the time. My biggest bass I think around 6# or so was caught on tiny black jig.

It’s not nice to make the green fish fellers jealous. Some nice fish for a short trip. You’re warming up to that rig just fine.

A friend always claims the largest fish in the sea eats (krill).
    he has a point.

This was a 5 footer today . I bought the 4’6” and the 5’ when they were relatively cheap.
I think I like the five footer best .

Great short trip. I bass fish regularly carrying two bass rods and one of my ultralights. Lot's of trips where only the ultralight caught fish.

Jim- I’m with ya. Bigger baits do t always get eaten. That’s what turned me to light and ultralight in the beginning.

Chaser, my 5’ Phenix custom is awful sweet too. Some days it gets most of the play.
