"Whatever you do, don't drop that rod in the water, OK? Allright - now cast right THERE. Count to two-Mississippi and reel slow ..."
Thump! Zizzzzzzz.
Took dear daughter fishing. She is a successful young urban professional; hasn't fished since she was in grade school. I handed her my Limber Tip/Presso rigged with a trout magnet (boy did they like Bison color today), gave her a 15-minute refresher on how to cast, and got her on some fish. After she caught her second 1 lb plus slab, she got serious, and it was on. I got outfished! Cloudy, front coming in, spitting rain, WINDY, she took it like a trooper, and we wore out some slabs. We only kept 3 males for supper and let the rest go. When a wind knot hopelessly snarled up the Evergreen, I handed her the Realfinesse STS/Revo Extreme, and said "keep fishing - I'll deal with this". What a killer day. Saw some cool birds including a bald eagle that sat high on a tree and watched us. I live for days like this.
