Default JDM stuff through Amazon US

    Morning everyone,

I was looking through my wish list on Amazon yesterday and noticed one of the Abu Garcia MBS 3 634L travel rod price dropped back down to about $65. I have a couple of the 6'3" 4 piece rods but keep the item on my wish list because it also list a couple of 2 piece rods also. I haven't seen the 2 piece rods as having any stock as of yet though. The rods are actually sold and shipped by Amazon Japan

I had some time on my hands so I went to the Amazon Japan store front to see what other rods Amazon Japan had listed. One of the rods listed is the Tenryu Lunakia LK582S-LS rod. I placed an order yesterday since the price is about $100 less than anywhere else I was able to find the rod. The rod is listed as "Usually ships within 4 to 6 weeks" that leads me to believe that it's not actually in stock and they have to source the rod. I have no idea if I'll actually get the rod or if they will just cancel the order after a certain amount of time. I had that happen the first time I ordered the Abu Garcia travel rod. For the $182 the rod is listed at I'm willing to give it a shot and wait to see if the rod actually ships, at full price I'm not that interested in the rod, at a good deal I'd like to try the rod. For now it's a waiting game.

I've bought a couple of rods and reels from Amazon Japan this way in the past, 3 of the Abu travel rods, and a Major Craft Finetail stream rod, sometimes the price is better than ordering from Digitaka or JDM Tackle. The same goes for a couple of reels and extra spools. I've only had one order cancelled.

I keep a couple of JDM items on my wish list, I've noticed that the price can vary widely over the course of a couple weeks, I think it must depend on what vendor on Amazon Japan is supplying the item.

I noticed the drop in price on the AG MB 3 rod also .
I also put things in my wish list and check them often .
I’m interested in your experience buying directly from Amazon Japan .
BTW , I own five of the AG MB 3 rods .
    They’re a bargain at less $70 IMO .

    .
I made the order through Amazon US my normal Amazon account. The seller/supplier is Amazon Japan.

I'd like to try some of the other MB3 rod also, I just don't want to pay full price for them. If I could find the other models at $70 like the travel rod I'd probably have the whole line up.

Unless it has changed the only way to buy directly from Amazon Japan is to use a proxy buying service. I have bought several items using buyee Japan service. It has been a couple of years but every thing came out good. I had to pay a little bit more but it was worth it as I was buying gear I wanted and none of the Japanese web stores had the items. Have also used same service to buy from yahoo Japan. There are a lot more items on US Amazon, from Japan, than ever before. Five years back there was hardly any gear at all.

    Regards

Never order a JDM rod buy ordered a few reels through both Amazon US (sold by Amazon Japan) and Amazon Japan directly with no problem. With Amazon Japan I have to register as new account with credit card and not associated with Amazon US.
add remember order a telescopic Daiwa bbb rod with no problem. Remember order from either Amazon you get charged with tax, order through vendor no tax and can use PayPal as payment with small fee.

I'm hoping the order goes through. How do you like the Rod?

I like it. It's definitely a different action than my other ajing rods. It's still a fast action but loads slightly deeper into the blank than other rods I own. It's very lightweight and is crafted perfectly. I'm debating on getting a second one because the price is so good. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks, The action sounds like I how I thought it would be. I wasn't even really looking for another rod, but couldn't resist it at that price.
