    Default Dale Hollow

Reservations made, time taken off work and going in a couple weeks. Going to be staying at the state park in Kentucky. Any tips for fishing in this area? I'll be taking the kayak so I can't run the whole lake.

Put in at Cedar Hill, Holly Creek, Hendricks Creek, and of course at the state park. Trout Magnets work very well at Dale Hollow. You can expect to get into Smallies, and trout should be up around the banks. You could get into shell cracker and bluegill. If you go all the way out to end of Holly Creek, and fish on the right side, you may get into a bunch of black perch. If you do go out to Holly Creek make sure to fish the small channel to the right that leads out to main lake. The left bank of that channel is a small island. But I would not be surprised if all you catch is Smallies, but I don’t think you’d be disappointed in thatDale Hollow.
