So I just got my Daiwa Exceller 1000 2024 in the mail today.. I must say the reel feels nice smooth and light, I own some high end Shimano and Daiwa reels and this is almost on par with the smoothness…

I used the anti reverse to back reel when fishing for carp in my teens but haven't used it since. Never use it anymore since my new reels have such good drag systems. The last three reels I've bought don't have an anti reverse on it which is a good thing for me. I've had two reels where the anti reverse stopped working, once when I set the hook on a big crappie and I lost that fish. One is a Daiwa Certate which is a high end reel and the other a Quantum Energy. Had both reels repaired and used them for a little while and the anti reverse went out again. Now they sit on a shelf collecting dust.
