Default Well, one new toy got here safe and sound

I almost got an Ultegra when I bought my Vanford. I held them both and just by hand, to me, there was not a lot of difference. My Vanford quickly became go to reel and has spent time on a lot of my rods, but every time I saw the Ultegras in the case I would want to buy one. While rod shopping on Digitaka I noticed the Ultegras had a much better price then I had ever seen here at a retailer so I pulled the trigger on this 2000 size. I was surprised when it came out of the box in a darker color than I has seen it at Bass Pro. They were more of a light blue, maybe a year model change, either way, I like this color more. I never thought I would order a JDM reel to save money but here we are. I do have one question though. How do you know which reels are going to have shallow spools? I ordered a Legalis and a Sahara from Digitaka last year and the Daiwa had the same deep spool as we get here but the Shimmano has a shallow spool. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other, just a curiosity.

The shallow spool version will usually have a (s) in the model number.
Like the c2000s will be a compact reel , a 1000 size frame with a 2000 size shallow spool.

Lol, I don't know why I never noticed that, now I feel dumb. I even know that the C is for compact, which is what I look for. I like the bigger spool on the smaller frame.

Look at the line capacity on the spec sheet on Digitaka and compare it to our domestic versions. If there is no spec sheet on Digitaka, click on the official site button. And don't forget you get free shipping on terminal tackle, lines and lures when you order a reel.

You know what? I did forget that entirely. I realized I had forgotten that when I went to my cabinet and learned I was out of any decent line in something between 1 and 2 pound test. I need something in the 3000 size for a bit heavier rod and I thinking of just getting it from them to get some line shipped for free lol.

When you get that next reel you might as well throw in some line and jigheads and take advantage of the free shipping.
