I'm going to try out the Twitch Master nylon 3lb. line in the spring. I've always used the Trout Magnet SOS 2lb. line with good success. Do I need a clear leader on the gold colored Twitch Master line?? I never used a leader on the green colored SOS and frankly don't want to start tying them on...Thanks!

Nope.....caught a lot of shell cracker, bluegill, and crappie with it. But if I am fishing for trout I will use an FC leader no matter which line I use.

I use the 3lb twitch a lot and always use a leader but as Randy said it is probably fine without it for gills and crappie. Hope you like it!

I’ve never used it with a leader.

Not needing a leader is one of the main reasons I fish the Twitch master.

Never used it with a leader for gills and crappie. Only exception being trout stream fishing. I add a 2 - 3 feet of fluoro leader. Does it affect the catch rate? Dunno! One of the BFS guys up in Michigan uses Varivas sight edition which is fluorescent in color. According to him it does not affect the catch rate. Perhaps because he is looking for a reaction strike.

I haven't been using it long but I don't use a leader. Don't know about the fish but I can barely see it myself.

Maybe all my years of trout fishing make me tie the leader on. A lot of my crappie and gill waters are super clear. I’m sure you would be fine without. It’s like just a confidence thing for me.

I haven’t used a leader with it but my waters are like coffee.
