I have the older black/gold one in the 1000d LT and the 1000s LT models .
And the blue 1000d LT models .
Looking forward to comparing them .
One of the few issues I had with the past models was the slight play in the handles .
The thread in handle should eliminate most of the play , I hope .
When you’re a jig twitcher you like a reel without a lot of play in the handle .
The newer one is supposed to be slightly lighter too.

The Fuego LT 1000d is a very nice reel .
They have a newer model coming out soon .
It’ll be interesting what upgrades they will have , if any .

My only issue with the Fuego is it wasn’t offered in a shallow spool version.

My Fuego is one of my favorite reels that I crappie fish with. Very smooth on all fronts for that reel.

I apologize to all who were waiting on a review from me on the Daiwa 2023 Legalis LT 1000s .
Today was day four since I ordered the reel and it had not shipped.
This not normal for Digitaka . I usually have my order in four days .
I came to my senses and canceled the order , while I still could .
I need to get a handle on my impulse buying .
There’s no way this reel could or would be smoother than reels I already have.
This one was a 5.2/1 retrieve and I’ve gotten to where I prefer slower reels, so after the new wore off, it would have wound up in the big cardboard reel box with the others not being utilized.

I own more Fuego LT 1000d’s than I do any other reel . A great reel especially for what they cost .

I ordered a Daiwa 23 Legalis LT 2000s-p from Amazon Japan. This reel is offered in a 4.8/1 retrieve .
    It’s all Victor’s fault .
It’s been ordered about a week . Hopefully it’ll get here before the holiday .
Victor from I_fish on YouTube does an in depth review of the reel . He disassembles the reel and compares it to the older 2017 version.
Although I don’t agree with him on everything he says , I do find myself in agreement with him on a lot of things .
Such as bigger diameter rod guides on ultralight rods for longer casting distance .
I found this true in my experiments I was doing comparing different rods I own .
Lately I’ve been enjoying fishing my St Croix 6’6” light action rods . They’re rated for 4-8# line , but I’ve found them fine for fishing 2# .
I’ll post my opinion on the reel when it gets here and I’ve had time to properly slime it .

Victor has been beating up on micro guides since he started getting the high end JDM Ajing, and Area trout rods. Me, I love em. Of course I want the most sensitive rods I can get. The closer the guides are to the blank the more sensitive the rod. Be that a JDM rod or US domestic rod. Ajing, Mebaru, and area trout rods are designed for one thing over all others. That is sensitivity. No rods in the US market have inner diameters as small as the rods out of Japan. And they have been getting smaller and smaller since 2012. The smallest I have currently are 1mm id. I guess they could get even smaller but line diameters would have to shrink greatly. My issues are seeing the darn things to get the line through the guide. Seems like it gets worse every few monthsDaiwa 2023 Legalis LT 1000s How small are the guides on your Abu’s?

I measured the stripper guide on the Abu rod and it’s right at 1/2” inside diameter , pretty small IMO. The St Croix rod is around 3/4” . 50% larger .
A 500 reel might match up pretty good , but I feel with a larger reel , line loops would suffer having to squeeze through that small of a guide unless a heavier jig is used .
I use lighter jigs than a lot of folks do . Under 1g . My heavy jigs with 4.65mm Tungsten beads weigh around .8g .
I feel heavier jigs help straighten line loops through smaller guides .
IMO , A lighter weight jig needs larger guides .
Micro guides work best on casting rods where you don’t have line loops .
My most sensitive rods are shorter rods , from 5- 5 1/2’ , but they give up distance unless I go to a heavier jig or weight . That’s why I use them for drop shot fishing .
I’m willing to give up some sensitivity to get casting distance because, fishing from shore , if I don’t reach where the fish are , sensitivity isn’t going to help me catch any fish .
