Certainly sounds like a very sensitive rod
I own the 6’2” version of this rod. It's fantastic! I've never before had a rod that lets me detect pure lift bites on crappie. This rod does. With 5-lb braid and a 2-gram jig at 20-feet down, I can feel the tension of the jig let up. Set the hook. Catch a crappie.
The sensitivity is fantastic. Its bending curve is very pleasant. It less "extra-fast" than my Daiwa aji rod. FYI, as I've seen someone else post somewhere, I'd call this rod closer to UL than to Light power. Even little fish are a lot of fun on this rod.
Randy is the person who first pointed me to Majorcraft for its value, and I'm still grateful. This rod is a perfect example

Awesome purchase!! I've had my eye on these rods for a while now. I reckon they would be great for gills and shellcrackers.

What is the differences between the Aji D 5g and Aji Do 1g rods? I see there is a price difference. I would like to have the 6-2" version of either one I suppose, unless one is significantly better than the other.
The blanks are different as well as the components. That being said they are very similar when you're fishing with them. The 5G is slightly lighter and a little more sensitive. If you want the top of the line get the 5G otherwise get the 1G. Having both I don't know if the 5G is $80 better than the 1G. If the 5G broken I'd probably replace it with another 1G.
