    Default Lake monster

I went fishing for bluegill this morning with my 7' Shimano Soare and my Stella 2000cs using 2# Maxima and a 1/48 chub tipped with a haif a wiggler. Cork goes under and set the hook and drag starts screaming. Thought I had another big bass for the first couple minutes before I realized it was too big to be a bass. Fought it for 20 minutes before I could get it close enough to see that it was a giant grass carp. I broke out the phone while still fighting the fish and managed a short video before attempting to land it. I got it to the bank and tried lifting it but it was too heavy, then tried to grab it by the gills and it went berserk splashing me with mucky water front and back before bolting away. This was over 4 feet long and guessing between 50-60 lbs. I uploaded the video on Instagram under junglejimjigs. Could someone move it here for me?

I’m not sure how to do video from Instagram. I know YouTube works and can be linked here.

I’d have paid a few bucks just to watch that show! Had to get your heart rate up a bit. Sorry you didn’t get to hold him long enough for a pic or two. Catch of a lifetime.

I have it up on youtube now if that helps. That fish was so powerful, wore me out and it took awhile before I started fishing again. It splashed water down both of my wading boots and had to dump out the water in my boots and wring out my socks. Checked my Fitbit and heart rate was 130 after it was over. More excited about landing this grass carp than the 10.23 lb bass that I caught earlier this year from the same lake. That 7' Soare and Stella protect light lines very well, really pumped to get it in.
