IMO, it’s definitely an UL and a fun rod to fish .
Also I feel like it’s one of the best bargains in a JDM rod .
A four piece rod that feels and fishes like a one piece .
I’m glad you like it .
Not that I need another multi-piece travel rod ( just got the Palms Quattro and 5 yr old 4-pc Abu MB extreme 602L), this looks very promising.

Just talking about Area trout rods I have 3 different models now. Carabus Nano XUL, Carabus Extreme UL, and the Mass Beat III Light.

I have a Carabus Delicate 622UL coming will have to see where that falls with the power rating from the rod maker.

Using a totally arbitrary testing method of putting the rod in a jig that holds it at an angle of apx 60 degrees and measuring the rod tip height from the floor initially then adding weight 1oz at a time. I got the following percentages of for how far the rod tip moved from the original height.

Carabus Nano XUL 54% with 3 oz of weight
Carabus Extreme UL 48.6% with 4 oz of weight
Mass Beat 3 Light 50% with 4 oz of weight

While fishing it's hard to hook a fish that doesn't give you a good time on the XUL. For pure fun factor it's my favorite rod. Both of the Carabus rods are much lighter weight wise Nano (58.7g), Extreme (51.5g) than the MB3 (77.5g) 25 to 30% lighter. They feel more refined and almost delicate in comparison. It looks like the price of both the rods has gone up since I bought them, they are now 3 to 5 times more expensive than what the MB3 is going for on Amazon.
I ordered a Carabus Delicate 622UL on Aug 18 it arrived today, so a little over 3 weeks to receive it from Waveinn.

Caught a few 5 to 6 inch bluegill with it at my pond, not enough to give it a fair evaluation. I'll do a write up on it once I've had a chance to fish it for a day so I can experience it catching fish in a wider range size.
It weighed in right at 90g so fairly heavy compared to the other rods above. Guides are the Fuji New Concept O ring type according to the tag on the rod, and reel seat is also Fuji.

Put it in my testing jig like the rods above. Using that method it falls between the Nano and MB3. So at least a rod rated as UL kind of falls into the rod power rating where you would expect it to.

Carabus Nano XUL 54% with 3 oz of weight and 60% at 4 oz

Carabus Delicate 622UL 47.5% at 3 oz of weight and 55% at 4 oz

Mass Beat 3 Light 43% at 3 oz of weight 50% with 4 oz

Carabus Extreme UL 41.7% at 3 oz 48.6% with 4 oz

Waiting for the write up and pictures. Congratulations on the new rod.
If you cast it they will come.
