Thread: Wish me luck

CPW it's up to you what you want to do, send to skeetbum or wait till I get the tips I ordered and the rod. I should be able to fix you up with a tip when I get them. I ordered tips with ring sizes 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, and 7 mm OD of the eyelet. they are all for tip size of 4/64 of an inch. The size 4 was the smallest size I could find on Mud Hole, when I did the math from the calipers in thousands of an inch to 64ths I came up with 3.5 but couldn't find that size. I'm guessing the glue will take up the extra room as I've never replaced a tip before.

Skeet does the above seem feasible for putting a tip on a TCB. I ordered the differnt sizes to be able to see them, from the factory the Tip eyelet is lager than the guide that is second from the top, not sure why but that's the way it came.

Update:
According to the tracking, the rod has made it to California. Needs to clear customs and it usually takes about three days afterwards.
Looks like it’s going to make it this time .

I love my St Croix Ultralights , but the MB is such a fun and functional rod , it’s hard not to grab one when heading out.
I sprung for the 6’ and the 6’3” two piece UL’s from JDM Tackleheaven , but they were worth the extra shipping costs .

Mine made it through customs at LAX yesterday and transferred to carrier for delivery. That usually means about three business days left .

This was yesterday
10:55 AM
Package transferred to another carrier for delivery.

I’m thinking maybe Monday .

Well , look what I found on my front porch steps when I got home from fishing this morning.
It made it !
I don’t know what happened last time , but it was due to arrive this Thursday, but showed up four days early .
I don’t know when it’ll get its proper sliming, but it’ll be going my next trip out .
Schedule is full tomorrow and part of Tuesday. Maybe able to sneak off some Tuesday morning before my wife’s appointment .
But we’ve got folks started to do some repairs on the house starting tomorrow, weather permitting. Not sure how long it’ll take .
I’m just stoked I was able to get another one .

That's good news, my tracking says this Friday, sure would be nice to have it a couple days early.

It may show up tomorrow.
When everything is going right , they’re usually about three days early .
The tracking is strange , once it clears customs at LAX , there isn’t any tracking until it’s out for delivery.
I was expecting mine tomorrow and was surprised to see it today .
