Default Diawa Presso 21 LT 1000S-P

Well it took two weeks to get here , where Digitaka got my Shimano Soare XR only took about three days .
But at least it didn’t get cancelled like my last order from Amazon Japan .
    First impression, it’s a small reel . More like a 750 size reel .
Nice and light weight and once I added a few drops of Lucas reel oil to the main shaft and to the bearings on both sides of the handle shaft , this little reel turned smoother than warm butter .
I spooled it up with Daiwa J Braid X8 and mounted it on a 5’ St Croix Triumph ULM and took it outside for some test casts up and down the driveway.
Casting a .4g micro spinner I got 42-43’ consistently . I’ll most likely get a few more feet with a 5’6” SC Premier or Avid when I try them , but this rod was empty at the moment.
And I thought it matched up nicely .
Looking forward to a proper sliming soon . And a comparison to the Soare XR .
    My reel collection is complete!
( until the new Daiwa Fuego comes out in a couple of months)

Looking forward to how it compares to the Soare XR. Glad you didn't have a cancellation problem this time. I'm hoping I don't have an issue with the latest Major Craft stream rod I ordered.

I’m glad you got your holy grail. One of those is still on my list of must haves. I at the point now that I need to figure which ones will become someone else’s from my stable. I’m hoping you enjoy it as much as you expected. I’m looking forward to seeing the pics of you giving it a workout.

    Thanks guys .
I’ve had one of these reels in my cart several times and have even ordered one , only to cancel before it shipped.
I found a decent deal on one and ordered it , this time I let it go through.

Now to figure out which rod gets to wear it .
I tried it on a 5’6” SC Premier ULF and probably gained a foot in casting distance.
I then switched it over to my 5’ SC Avid ULF and immediately felt like I was holding a feather . Unbelievable how light the combo felt .
Tested it in the driveway and my average distance was pretty close to the the Premier.
I’m going to leave it on the Avid for now .
I put the Soare XR on a 5’ SC Avid also , so the comparison will be as equal as I can get it .
They’ll both be going fishing with me the next time I get out .
