    Default Daiwa Presso

I finally got my hands on a Daiwa Presso rod. 5’6 UL. So pretty!

For now, I have paired it with a Daiwa Revros LT 1000 reel. The gold accents match the Presso nicely. I spooled it up with some 2lb Sufix hi-vis mono in Neon Orange to try to match the orange/red bands on the Presso. What do you guys think?

I am thinking about ordering a Daiwa QZ 750 as a permanent reel for this rod. I love that the QZ is black and has the cork knob on the handle. Anyone have this reel? Your thoughts on it? Ever paired it with a Presso?

The QZ 750 has less bearings, but weighs a tad less than the Revros or Regal LT. It also has a slower retrieval rate… which I really like. When crappie fishing with Trout Magnets or Road Runners in Winter. I think the slower reels sometimes help with sluggish crappie. Just a theory, though. I have enjoyed using a Pflueger Trion 20b for that exact reason, but want to stick with a Daiwa reel for the Presso.

I have both of those reels, and several Pressos, but not as short as yours. The QZ750s are sitting on the shelf, in favor of some <$100 JDM shallow spool Daiwa models. Your mileage may vary, however.
Buy the 750 off Amazon and if you don't like it, return it.

The Daiwa Presso are nice rods , I have the 5’ one piece, a two piece 6’ and a four piece 7’ travel rod .
I think the 5’6” would probably be the better choice between the 5 and 6 footers .
    Good looking rods .
As far as the 750 Ultralight Daiwa reels , for about the same money right now you can pickup a Daiwa Fuego LT 1000 and they are some of the smoothest reels I own.
