Otherwise it looks like it would limit the space to the hook Point . Maybe that’s why the gap is open .

Have some Duo Tetra Works Snip Head jigs on order. Thought I would give them a test run. The jig looks like a pill head...until you look at it from the front. The hook is also open gaped. Be interesting to see how they work for bluegill and shell cracker.
