    Default Varivas braid

I got my spool of Master Limited Super Premium PE Ultra Fine braid today .
0.3 max 7lb in Pink Tournament.
Since this is Premium braid , I chose my Shimano Soare XR 500spg to spool it on . Paired up with one of my best light lure casters my 5’6” St Croix Avid ULF .
I tied on a bright colored Trout Magnet to help me find it in the driveway after my casts .
My first cast was an ok 49’ . My longest was just over 60’ with my average close 55-56’ .
Not tearing it up , but I’m hoping it’ll get better when wet and after the braid breaks in .

I also threw a few casts with the new KastKing Kestrel combo . I’m not optimistic about the 5’2” Kestrel featherlight rod . It’s closer to a regular ultralight moderate and has rating numbers that are created to sell rods instead of performing. Well , the marketing worked , but you never know until you try .

You’ll be surprised how tough the smaller lines are. I tug on em pretty hard when I get hung and haven’t broken the braid yet I have broken the leader and had a couple of knots fail. I trim too close sometimes.
