    Default Ordered a new reel

I returned a couple 2000 size reels while I was able to return them . After deciding a bigger spooled reel didn’t do what I wanted it for .
I took the refund and added a little to it and ordered what I hope to become my dream reel
    A Daiwa 21 Presso LT 1000S-P .
I’m looking forward to seeing just how smooth these reels are .

Big congrats! I was just out in the shop getting mine out of the reel case. I am taking the line off the Zenon and putting it on the low ratio Presso. It’s going to help me keep the TM down where those shell cracker can get to it. I knew I should not have been using a high speed reel for what I’m doing but I was just too lazy to switch out the line. Reeling that Presso is like reeling air!

    Regards

This is the most I’ve ever spent on a reel .
    I have big expectations.

    Well , I canceled my order .
Maybe I came to my senses and figured out I don’t need a $300 reel to catch bluegill.
    Why ?
One , It has been three days since I placed my order and it hadn’t shipped .
Two, it’s been almost two weeks since I returned the Abu Garcia Beast to Amazon Japan and according to UPS is sitting in a warehouse in Tokyo waiting for Amazon to accept delivery.
Three , I’ve read bad reviews due to quality control on the Presso since Daiwa switched to China manufacturing and I don’t want to wait weeks waiting on a return . And I’m afraid I’ll get one that’s no better than what I already own .
I like shallow spool reels from Japan , but it’s not a deal breaker for me . I’ve put backing on reels for years without any issue .
I’m ok with ordering items around $100 from overseas, if I don’t like them it goes in the box of almost made it stuff and I accept the loss , or I donate it to a friend .
I’ve ordered a KastKing Kestrel. If I don’t like it , I have thirty days to return it and I’ll have my refund the day I ship it back .
I haven’t read a lot about these reels . But I own the KastKing Zephyr SFS 1000 reel and it’s been a nice reel . It weighs 5.3oz , the Kestral weighs 4.6oz and has 10+1 stainless steel double shielded bearings.

I have heard of a couple of instances of "J"DM reels now manufactured in China. Is that going to be a continuing trend. I have to sympathize with your notion of not needing a $300 rod for panfish. I bought a KastKing Zephyr and so far have been very happy with it.
