It is a pretty thing and casting is very good. I have to say that I was disappointed after the first fish. I know I bought the bushing model, and not the bearing model, but the knob on the handle should turn and not resist so much that it doesn’t want to rotate as you turn it. One other thing is the drag. I’m guessing that the drag is sealed by a rubber section on the bottom of the drag knob. This being grabby (a technical term.) caused what felt like the drag to surge. Made it odd to adjust the drag and not be too loose. The drag on the presidents are smoother than this one was today. Now I’ve oiled the knob after disassembling it and ran a thin coat of oil, Lucas red oil in a 2 oz bottle, around the base of the rubber and next time out I’ll have a better opinion of it’s real personality. If someone can tell me where I might find some bearings for the knob, and maybe some of the others I don’t have, I would appreciate it. I can safely say that the fish don’t like it. I got to meet about 15 of these today, mostly on this rig with a panfish magnet in the ifish famous poop color. Thanks for taking the time to check this out.

I’m sorry yours is giving you issues.
Mine doesn’t have either of those problems.
I’ll check it next time out because I’m about to switch back over to my little reels .
I’ve found there isn’t that big of a difference in distance and the smaller reels are naturally lighter .
I did have a couple of Nasci 500’s that didn’t want to sing smooth with a load on them but they seem to get better the more I use them.

Pretty fish……if there are bearings for it Hedge Hog will have them. Follow Gills link….the bearings won’t be expensive but the shipping could be. I’ve ordered quite a bit from them but a few years back I started choosing reels that had full bearings and no bushings at all. I got to where too many small springs would flick off into unknown spaces….LOL.

    Regards

Those are the right ones but I can’t find any other bearings that would apply to my reel and the shipping is a flat $25. Goofy to spend that much shipping and wind up paying $40. Thanks just the same.

Man, I was tired when I posted that last night. Granddaughters graduation party and too much food and cake. I hadn’t read Randy’s response but it was spot on. I’m going to try it with oil on the handle knob and drag knob and see what happens. Thanks for the help and I’ll keep you posted. I’m also going to look at my other reels and see if there is anything else I might need. Just might have to bite the bullet.
