I believe the low ratio will keep the trout magnet in the strike zone longer enticing them to bite.

I got my new reel on Monday , but didn’t get to fish it until today
I mounted it on my St Croix Avid 6’ ULF , mainly because it’s the lightest weight 6’ rod I own and with the Soare weighing a mere 5.3oz , I wanted a lightweight combo .
Actually the plan was to swap reels with my Abu Garcia Mass Beat rod that I had paired with my Shimano Symetre 500FL , but I was enjoying fishing the Symetre on my favorite rod that I never got around to swapping them out .
But I did fish the Soare and St Croix combo some and enjoyed the new reel .
The Soare is a 4.7/1 ratio reel and is the first Shimano reel in my last ten Shimano purchases that I didn’t have to oil up before taking it fishing .
It performed awesome . Very easy and smooth to wind and has an easy start up .
The drag is great too , with multiple clicks add variable adjustability over a wide range .
It has a shallow spool which only holds 110 yards of 2# test .
It was a windy day , but didn’t notice any difference in my casts and those with my 1000 size reels , using 1/64th and 1/32 oz jigs .
This reel is smoother than the Nasci and Sahara 500’s that I’ve recently purchased .
I don’t see how a Vanford would be worth double the price of this reel .
My next trip I’ll put the Soare BB on my Abu Garcia and give it a better work out and report back .
This is the only pic I have of it for now .

Nice looking combo
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass alonggillchaser999 LIKED above post
As said nice looking combo and the light weight must make it a pleasure to fish with. Thanks for the report.

I’ve been looking for some more of the braid that I have on my 5’6” and found it on plat. Not wanting to pay the shipping I ordered a Soare BB and let them pay it. Not the cheapest price so I probably paid it anyway but sweetened it best I could. I’m looking forward to having it on the 6’ build with some of the braid to go with it. The twitchmaster is doing a good job but it’s different. It’ll go on another rod for rooster tails and such. Thanks for the input chaser, it helped in my decision. More when it arrives.

I just finished watching a five bearing upgrade for the reel. Took about twenty minutes and didn’t look very hard at all. Done by reel review on YouTube. Worth a look and I’ll be looking for the stuff he bought.

Ok, I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed. I went back into my history and found that the upgrade was for the 2000 series. Back to looking for the kits.
