    Default Strange pond visit .

I took my Abu Garcia Mass Beat III to the pond this morning.
Cool , overcast , with occasional gusts of wind . Temp low 50’s.
I spent more than an hour throwing small jigs , float n jig , and even drop shot without a nibble .
So , I switched over to a 2” Bobby Garland Baby Shad and a 1/16 jighead hoping to attract something, even a bass .
In the last hour I hooked eleven small bass , but only landed three .
Some pulled loose on the way in , about three or four jumped and threw the bait .
I got the enjoyment of playing most of them . With head shakes and runs .
But I would have liked to have gotten my hands on more of them .
I swapped jigheads three times , with different makes and styles of jigs .
It wasn’t until I went with a 1/64 Trout Magnet head that I managed to land two out of four.
Fun , but frustrating too .
I’m liking the Bobby Garland baby Shad bodies . A little bigger than what I’ve been using and more attractive to the green fish .
Fun size bass on an ultralight.

Very nice. You have been hitting the bass really well!

Some fun sized fish. I like the surprise fish and the ways they misbehave. If you don’t already have them, try the blue ice BGBS, they work well for me.
