    Default Daiwa J-Braid Grand 8X

Going give braid another try .
Ive bought braid in the past and never really gave it much of a try . The diameters weren’t that much different than the mono I was using .
    Ordered some Daiwa J-Braid Grand 8X .
    I’ve read some good reviews.
Hoping to get added casting distance with my float n jig and float n fly rigs .
Plan on tying the braid to a tiny swivel and then a P-line flouroclear leader .
May try tying up a graduated leader using six pound tied to three pound Flouroclear.
That might eliminate my issue with the jig wrapping the float during the cast .

    Default Daiwa J-Braid Grand 8X

If you wanna try some “Real” braid try the Varivas Infinity PE X8. The diameter of the 5.6# is 0.074mm. That’s as fine as a human hair. I love the stuff. Only con is price…it is expensive.

    Regards

    Shouldn’t that be .074 mm ?
    The 3# P-line I’m using is 0.16mm .0064 in. according to P-line website.

I'm with Randy: the Varivas Infinity PE X8 is spectacular. It's So much quieter through the guides than cheaper, rough-textured braids. I fish the 5.5 lb. And I'll split the spool between two reels, so I'm only using 120 feet on a shallow-spool reel. Because the warmwater fish we're all seeking here are territorial, they don't run very far. So, 120 feet is plenty.
