I also forgot to add one of the main rods I’ve looked at is a Daiwa Lateo and was looking at around a 9ft and under rod (this length is a little out of my comfort range but seems to be the norm off the pier?).
I know this is completely off topic and not likely that anyone has any experience with what I am looking for but… I am looking for a JDM rod to use off the pier in Florida. I have a JDM Daiwa rod with a 2500 size Luvias that I use to target spanish and pompano but I am looking for a heavier setup that I could land the larger species with. I have observed cobia, jacks, king macks, redfish, and apparently even some tarpon show up. My JDM daiwa setup has 16lb varivas on it and it’s a lot of fun for the smaller fish but when I hooked a 25ish lb jack in the spring it was for sure no match. I have been researching sea bass rods which I assumed they would be like stripers in the US? Not really sure what type of Japanese rod I should be focused on. I am wanting to get a Daiwa Certate as my reel and I’m going with the 4000 size which holds 200 meters of 30lb varivas. I know I’ll still be under gunned but would stand a better chance. Any rod suggestions or am I way out of line researching sea bass rods for what I’m wanting to use it for. I doubt I will throw any lures over an ounce and would likely be in the 1/2 to 1 ounce range on the baits I use. Before I arrive this fall I’m going to pick up a bunch or metal jigs but I am having trouble finding a 1/2 ounce major craft offerings at this time and might go with some zeake metal jigs. I know this is one big ramble at this time but was hoping someone could give me some guidance.

If you visit Major Craft's Facebook and/or Instagram page you will find many posts for what you are describing. Lots of inshore fishing posts with the equipment used. I attached a few screenshots for you.

Good suggestion. I joined a MC Facebook group yesterday to try to get an idea on rods more. I’ll have to research more and I’ll let you guys know what I go with. Thank you!
