I have a bunch of the 0.5 g jigs in the glow color. I’m going to take some acetone to one this evening and see what happens.

Default Daiwa Gekkabijin SW light jig heads w/ SS hook...

    Results time…

It didn’t quite take all the paint off. Some of the pink/orange around the eyes remain. Most of it came off though

I hung the jig by the hook on the rim of a shot glass into some acetone. Let it sit for 5 minutes before removing and wiping clean.

I let sit sit another 30 minutes in acetone then wiped with a q-tip. All the paint and the eyes came off.

Not sure it is worth it - especially if you care about the eyes on the jig head. It might be to some though.

Alright - the 0.5 g once glow jig head has been powder painted black. I think it worked really well - not going to bother putting eyes on it.

I need to dip the jig head a little more into the powder next time - but not bad for my first crack at it.

Does the glow heads affect your catch rate that much ?

I doubt it. The original poster has had plenty of success using the glow jig head.

I think a black jig head looks better with a couple of the trout magnets I use - so I thought I would try this.

Totally unnecessary - yes. But a fun little experiment nonetheless.
