    Default long ultra light

I need at least one new ultra light spinning rod.I must not be normal because I can't find what I am looking for. The old discontinued Cabelas fish eagle noodlerod is exactly what I prefer, haven't found anything close, help out please. I like parabolic slow action rated for 2lb test line, no fast or even medium action styles please.

Noodle rod, you didnt mention whether its USDM or JDM so here I have 2 JDM rods that are to me as parabolic as I believe a trout ultralight gonna ever get: Major craft Trapara 5-6xul and Abu Garcia Massbeat iii 6ft. These 2 are SLOW in action but super fun catching even 3 inch gills. They can be had a little cheaper than say a St Croix premier UL on EBay, and they come with better Fuji components. Hope this help!

Yes,that does help, and you seem to have great knowledge on the subject,so do you have any suggestions on something longer, say 8,9,or 10ft?The one I am basing my preference on is 11.5ft long, and I fully admit that part of the time it is an unwieldy thing, but when a subtle take is sensed and you haul back on a two pound crappie, now that is the feeling that keeps me fishing. I think a 5wt fiberglass 9' blank might work, but I was hoping someone already makes this rod. Thank you for your time and expertise.

I would look at the US market Daiwa Presso rods. I tried a couple of Presso rods years back and did not like them at all...reason being they were noodles. Now they may have changed over the years but I do not think so. You can find them in a 9 and 11 foot model...worth checking out for sure.

Noodle rod, can't say i've ever come across any UL rods in those length however Eagle Claw Ultralight do comes in at over 7 foot and I do own a Browning Six River in the 9 foot length I used it as a surf light application strung up with 4 to 6lb test for perches. There are some Mebaru JDM rods up to 8 feet in UL line rating but they are of the Fast and ExtraFast variety. It looks like you are in a dilema for a custom build out of a 3wt or even 4wt fly rod 9ft blank. I've heard its been done before, but not inexpensively unfortunately. Good luck on the hunt! Cheers!

I have a St Croix Triumph Salmon and Steelhead 9’ light moderate that I use for long casts from the bank with my float and jig rig.
    They also make it in a 10’6” UL Slow , that’s got to be a noodle rod . Rated 2-6# , 1/16-1/4 .
    Edit :
Looks like they may be out of stock most everywhere at the moment.

I just bought this one online appears to be discontinued. Okuma sst-s-802ul.I had a 7'6" and it was too short and too stiff, but I hooked a lot of crappie with it,so I am hoping.

It shows shipped now. I am pretty sure it will be a compromise, but I enjoyed a couple years with the shorter version so We'll see,and I will send a report with fish slime on the cork and pictures.
