Sounds like a great rod. I look forward to seeing some of you catches with it
As some of you may have read , I had two of my St Croix rods broken last week when I was clipped by a SUV and ran into a guardrail.
I lost a 5’4” Panfish and a 5’4” Trout Series .
Although I liked the blanks SC used in these rods , I think they used cheap guides and and wasn’t impressed with the handle/reelseat .
I’ve decide to replace one of the last rods this morning with a St Croix Premier PS60ULF . A six foot one piece ultralight fast action rod .
I wish they made a 5’6” one piece .
I own a 5’6” two piece Premier ULF , but to me the tip section is a little too much like a noodle . One would think , being a two piece would stiffen up the rod , but I think they went too far trying to achieve a fast action two piece rod .
Less than $10 difference in final price and made in the USA .
BTW , not ready to go JDM yet .

Can't go wrong with that St Croix blank, but the one piece issues in transportation is what sent me looking for a two piece alternative in the longer length rods. I have a great 7ft one piece St. Croix but it never could travel safely to VA in the wife's car for some great panfishing action at my daughters house. Research here on this website and a gentleman named Randy Goad ( Alphahawk) sent me down the JDM road of no return. Good luck with the new stick.

I hope to get my Tacoma repaired , and a six footer rides safely in the covered bed . As long as one doesn’t get ran off the road and everything gets scrambled in the rear .
I really prefer a 5’6” or so length , that’s what I liked about the 5’4” Panfish and Trout series . I just didn’t care for the hardware on them .
A 2 piece five footer extra fast would be nice to find .
That one would fit safely behind the seat in the xtracab .
I have one myself. I purchased it it last year and haven’t used it since I went down the JDM path. I’ll have to take it out tomorrow. It’s a fun rod, casts extremely well, just wish it were 2 piece.
You should enjoy that rod a lot. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say a bad thing about a SC blank, and I have often thought that the upgrades you are getting when you step up a class in that brand that is the reel seat and guides that must get better.
Congrats on new rod.
