Default Ordered my first JDM reel

I ordered my first JDM reel today. actually , it may be my second .
Two days ago I ordered a Shimano Nasci 500 FC from Digitaka. I like the one I bought from a source here in the USA and wanted to see the difference , if any between the two .
I can live with it if it turns out to be the same reel .
While looking around the site I noticed a Daiwa Revros 1000s lt . Looks like shallow spool version that weighs 200g which is .4 ounce less than a USA market Daiwa Revros 1000lt .
    Price was good .
We’ll see if the entry JDM reels are any better than what we can buy over here .

The only thing different about that reel is it has a shallow spool...the USA Nasci and JDM Nasci came off the same assembly line in Malaysia. The Sahara...Vanford....Nasci.....Stradic....are the same reel whether sold in Japan or USA....just JDM models have the shallow spool. The Stradic JDM can be had at a considerable savings than US models....even though it is the same reel. Pretty sure the Revros is same as US model also.

I’ll be alright if the Nasci 500 has a shallow spool or not . I’m pleased with the USA version I bought last week .
The FC is an improvement over over the FB Nasci .
The Revros stats are a little different. The shallow spool version is .4 ounces less . ( just rechecked and I was confused about the weight before) .
I’ll be happy with the Revros as long as it has the shallow spool and weighs no more than 7 ounces

I hope JDM Revros is a little different than the ones sold over here , overwise I paid $27 for a shallow spool .

You might have, gill. I have read the replacement spools aren’t cheap. Hope you get what you wanted.

Oh well ! If I don’t care for the reel , it’ll in up in the give away box .
I have a box of reels that have been lightly used that for some reason I didn’t care for after I ordered them .
My fishing buddies like it when I go through a clean out and give away .
    Helps promote ultralight fishing .

I don't know why you wouldn't enjoy it. I tell ya.....even if I did not buy the higher end JDM reels I would get the Stradics....Saharas....Nasci...and so on, out of Japan simply for the shallow spools. I do not like deep spool reels for UL angling.

I was at the local Bass Pro a couple of days ago. I held a Nasci 500 and really liked it. I did not buy it, but for other reasons. I have 3, maybe 4, Saharas, all either 500 or 1000, and love them. My favorite "go to" reel that I can walk in a store and buy off the shelf is a Daiwa Regal. I have about 4 of them as well in various sizes. All of that to say; If I weren't on a quest for very light reels, the Nasci would be on my "very short" list.
